EPA Compliance, State by State
Did you know that each state has different requirements for compliance with EPA standards?
We work alongside industrial hygiene (IH) firms across RI, MA, and CT to secure the required Abatement Plans, Alternate Work Plans, or Clearances, ensuring compliance with each state’s specific requirements. With Atlantic Abatement working in your best interest, you, as the homeowner, don’t have to worry about a thing.
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) regulates three-family residences, commercial, and demolition work, and it requires an asbestos abatement plan written by a licensed industrial hygiene firm.
If it is not safe to perform the abatement under traditional work procedures, the Massachusetts Department of Local Services (MassDLS) requires both an Alternate Work Plan (AWP) and an independent industrial hygiene firm be contracted by the homeowner or general contractor.
The Connecticut Department of Public Health (CTDPH) requires an industrial hygiene firm for post abatement clearances and for non-traditional work plans (NTWP).
The EPA standard National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants requires sampling of all building materials prior to any demolition or renovation (CFR Title 40, Chapter I, Subchapter C, Part 6140 § 61.145).
